So, I finished Carry On, by Rainbow Rowell and finally wrote my first book review! I'm probably more excited about this than anyone else is, but I've been wanting to write a review for a while (and wanting to read this book since the summer), so I think I'm justified for being pretty pumped about it.
Anyway, examination aside, I loved this book. Rowell managed to pack a lot of my favorite elements of fantasy novels into one, and I even enjoyed (for the most part) the romance she weaved into the story. I ended up giving this book a 4-star rating on Goodreads because I simply had fun reading it. But now that I've given the novel my impulse rating, it's time to break down what I thought about Carry On. Warning: spoilers ahead!

Well, I guess the title of this post covers most of what I want to say, but I'm going to say it anyway: I've been curious about the world of book reviews for a while now, and I want to write my own! I'm not talking about those official book reviews you find in the New York Times (or wherever you go to read up on the latest bestsellers), but ones that the average reader writes. Think Goodreads, and personal blogs. Fun, personal, casual book reviews that people write simply because they love reading. Those are the kinds that I love reading, and the ones I've been wanting to write.
